How WorksNear works, in plain terms
The questions we get asked most, grouped by what you are trying to do.
Getting started
- How do I create an account?
- Choose Get started and sign in with Google. After signing in, onboarding asks whether you are looking for work, hiring, or offering services, and builds the matching profile.
- Can I be both an employer and a job seeker?
- Yes. Roles are additive — complete onboarding a second time from your dashboard to add another role to the same account.
- Why does WorksNear only support Google sign-in?
- Google sign-in means no extra password to manage and a verified email address from day one. Additional sign-in methods may be added later.
Jobs and applications
- How do I post a job?
- You need an employer profile. Go to Post a Job, fill in the role, pay range and location, and it goes live for 30 days.
- How many jobs can I apply to?
- A free job seeker account includes 5 applications. Unlimited Applications ($10/month) removes the cap.
- Can I apply to the same job twice?
- No — one application per job. You can withdraw an application and the employer keeps the original record.
- When does a posting expire?
- Job posts run for 30 days from the day they are published, after which they stop accepting applications.
Services
- What does it cost to list a service?
- Nothing. Service providers list for free, set their own rates, and choose the radius they will travel.
- How do customers reach me?
- Customers send an inquiry from your service listing. Inquiries appear in your dashboard with a status you can move through as the job progresses.
Billing
- How do I pay?
- Subscriptions are billed monthly through PayPal. You approve the subscription in PayPal's checkout, and your plan activates as soon as PayPal confirms the first payment.
- How do I cancel?
- Open Billing and cancel your plan. Cancellation stops future renewals and access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
- Do you store my card details?
- No. Payment details are handled entirely by PayPal. WorksNear stores only the subscription status and payment history needed to run your account.
